Our goal is to inspire greater health and create joyful spaces through organic edible gardens.

We all know homegrown food is healthier, convenient and more fun.

But most folks do not grow their own food in any significant way.

The process of designing, building, planting and tending an edible garden can be completely overwhelming. The choices are daunting. It can feel impossible with a busy lifestyle and limited space.

This is why TEXAS RAISED GARDENS was founded. Through our simple process, home and commercial chefs throughout Austin and the outlying suburbs can have attractive, productive gardens of nutrient-dense ingredients in an aesthetically pleasing outdoor space. We want the greater Austin area to become a more whole and healthy community of gardens for every kitchen.

Our mission is to redefine the home vegetable garden as an essential and joyful place; providing clean, organic harvests 12 months a year.

Austin Texas Gardening Coach

Meet the founder and owner of Texas Raised Gardens.

Hilary was born and raised in Austin, Texas and grew up loving to learn about nature. She specializes in the organic, regenerative approach to home edible gardening through years of workshops and seminars, work in community and school gardens and thousands of hours in her own home gardens. Through this mix of formal training and years of trial and error, she’s a firm believer that a low maintenance, organic kitchen garden is achievable, even with a busy life, limited space, and even without a “green thumb.”

Hilary has been passionate about helping others gain confidence in the garden since she sliced her own seed-grown tomato in 2012. Almost a decade later, when a pandemic hobby of growing plants and educating neighbors took off, she realized the first key to success was in having the right garden set up. The first turnkey garden installation she completed was done as a one-woman show in the fall of 2020. This project was exhausting, which is when she quickly learned she needed help. Texas Raised Gardens has been steadily growing ever since, into a sizable network of suppliers, wholesalers, contractors and team members that it has today.
